The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child is an agreement between
195 countries and is very important because it protects your rights!
Rights are things that every child should have or be able to do. The
agreement protects 4 main areas of your life as children, including;
the right to survival; the right to be able to reach your full
potential; the right to protection from harmful influences, abuse and
exploitation; and the right to be involved in family, cultural and
social life. For more information on your rights you may want to visit:
http://www.unicef.org/rightsite/files/uncrcchilldfriendlylanguage.pdf.
Create a team of 4 (10-14 or 15-18 years old) with an adult supervisor. One adult can supervise more than one team so this means that everyone in your troop or unit can enter!!
How and what you draw is totally up to you!
The deadline for entries is FRIDAY 19 MARCH 2010 so get drawing. The competition is open to residents of the EU only. Details on how to register, enter and the full competition rules can be found at: http://www.eurojeune.eu

Twenty years ago the UN adopted the Convention of the Rights of the Child. This means that for 20 years children around the world have certain rights that must be respected. To celebrate this anniversary, the European Commission has launched a poster competition with the winning entries receiving the chance to travel to Brussels to receive the award!!!
